Coding platform Cursor is now officially part of SpaceX. The popular programming assistant confirmed the final acquisition closure in an official update published on the Cursor blog.
Elon Musk’s aerospace giant SpaceX first set up a joint development agreement with Cursor back in April. That original deal included a buyout option allowing SpaceX to acquire the programming startup for $60 billion. Two months later, as SpaceX completed its transition into a publicly traded company, both teams confirmed they were moving forward with the full acquisition plan. The transaction marks another major expansion for SpaceX, which also folded Musk’s artificial intelligence firm xAI into its corporate operations earlier this year.
Cursor emphasized that joining SpaceX opens direct access to massive computing power. SpaceX maintains extensive hardware infrastructure, renting out server access to major software developers including Anthropic and Google.
